Cities and Streets for all
To ensure enabling environment, these street campaigns and festivals have drawn people from all facets of lives to connect, partner and take a pledge to do contribute to “universal and accessible environments.
Gender Based Violence has fractured communities and devastated women’s lives. The United Nation’s data states that 1 in 3 women in the world experience violence. That is more than one billion women living on the planet today. We REFUSE to stand by as more than a billion women experience gender based violence.
Samarthyam is promoting several campaigns to end violence against girls and women with disabilities. The campaigns aims to mobilize widely and catalyse millions people across the world to raise their voices, celebrate and give a call to end violence against women and girls –ONCE AND FOR ALL.
Gender Equality
Samarthyam has been working past 32 years to promote Gender Equality and Social Inclusion.
In light of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Article on Women with Disabilities, Article 12, Equal recognition before the law, Article 16, Freedom from exploitation, violence and abuse, Article 17, Protecting the integrity of the person, and Article 23, Respect for home and the family), recognizes that any form of violence that violates the rights of women and girls with disabilities is a curtailment of human rights.
