Sensitizing Training and Workshops on Universal Accessibility and Universal Design

Disability awareness is a pre-requisite to mark the beginning of accessibility. Unless people are sensitized towards the needs of disabled people, it is difficult to implement accessibility. We have designed a Training Module- “Building Bridges”, to cross communication barriers and sensitized people towards the disabled community and vice-versa. We have termed this approach as “Building Bridges”, as both the individuals cross their respective borders to create an inclusive society.

Methodology

Methodology for sensitizing training differs from sector to sector. For example, while conducting a sensitizing training for service providers/ professionals, the methodology is focused on service and customer satisfaction. In case of educational institutes, the methodology is focused on teaching methods and interaction with students with disabilities. We include, interactive activities, demonstration of assistive technologies and simulations to make the training more effective

Samarthyam organized several workshops for stakeholders,, service providers, architects, engineers and others….
