Walkability and Safety Audits helps us to identify barriers in pedestrian environment and approach to transport hubs. Universal accessibility is mandatory in streets, roads, approach and connectivity to transport hubs, thus promoting trip chain accessibility and safety i.e. seamless journey from origin to destination.
Samarthyam undertakes Walkability audits (promotion of walking and non-motorised infrastructure) and Safety Audits (women and girls safety in streets as public spaces) to:

  • Assess, advocate and create awareness on seamless accessible travel chain in pedestrian infrastructure.
  • Work with the stake holders, service providers and road owning agencies to implement and monitor required designs standards and elements to make walkability safe, dignified and comfortable for “all” pedestrians and public transport users irrespective of their gender, age, disability.
